The war in Ukraine continues to devastate millions of lives. Families are separated, cities are in ruins, and an entire generation of children knows nothing but conflict. We must continue to pray for peace. The images from Ukraine haunt us — apartment buildings reduced to rubble, elderly people huddled in basements, children drawing pictures of tanks and explosions because that is the only reality they know. The scale of human suffering is almost impossible to comprehend. Millions have been displaced. Families torn apart — fathers staying to fight while mothers and children flee to countries where they do not speak the language and have no connections. Grandparents who refuse to leave the homes they have lived in for decades, even as the bombs fall around them. The bravery of the Ukrainian people is extraordinary. Teachers holding classes in bomb shelters. Doctors performing surgeries by flashlight. Ordinary citizens risking their lives to deliver food and medicine to besieged neighborhoods. We are asking for prayers for an end to this war, for protection of civilians, for the refugees who have lost everything, for the soldiers on all sides who are someone's child, and for the leaders of the world to find the courage and wisdom to stop the killing.
