Typhoon Dolphin made landfall on China's eastern coast on Sunday evening, striking Yuhuan in Zhejiang province with winds near 150 km/h before a second landfall at Wenzhou. More than a million people were evacuated from their homes, including in Shanghai, where over 1,300 flights were cancelled. Rains intensified by the storm also set off a landslide in Baguio, in the Philippines, leaving seven people missing. Now weakened to a tropical storm, Dolphin is moving inland, and authorities warn of severe flooding and landslides across seven provinces through Wednesday. A million people wait in shelters, not knowing what awaits them at home. We pray for all in the storm's path, for the missing of Baguio and those searching for them, and for the rescuers and relief workers labouring through the rain — may the waters recede and every family return safely home.
