On Friday, 21 August, Russian drones struck the largest shopping centre in Kryvyi Rih, central Ukraine, in two waves — the second hitting as rescue workers arrived. At least sixteen people were killed and 130 injured, among them 23 children. Further attacks the same day in the Mykolaiv and Kharkiv regions brought the day's toll across Ukraine to 21 lives. Families were shopping on an ordinary afternoon when the drones came. Hundreds of households now wait outside hospitals or search for news of loved ones. We pray for the bereaved and the injured of Kryvyi Rih, for the rescuers still working in the rubble, and for the doctors and nurses beside every bed — and we hold to the hope of peace for Ukraine.
